Detroit International Airport, 2003
We had a three hour layover at the Detroit International Airport on our way from Kennedy to Amsterdam. We had to go West to go East? Trudie and I decided to take advantage of those three hours and explore the airport. We unexpectedly came upon this mesmerizing water fountain and watched for some time as it cycled through a choreographed dance of water jets, squirts and blips. We’d never seen anything like it. I made forty-five exposures as I worked my way into showing the Spirit of the fountain. It has become one of my signature images.
